Republican Lack of Moral Perspective Part 1

The Trump does not have a standard stump.  But one staple in his monologue unfavorably compares Hillary Clinton's e-mail's to the information leaked by former General and CIA Director Petraeus.  Hillary's offense is so much worse that she is not qualified to run for office.

So as not to be accused of progressive partisanship, my source for Petraeus's actions is the silo of conservative hysteria, Fox News.  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/04/23/former-cia-director-petraeus-to-be-sentenced-for-leaking-classified-information/  Petraeus admits that he improperly retained 8 black books containing classified information including the names of covert operatives in Afghanistan, and allied war strategy.  The documents were kept in an unlocked drawer.

He shared these notebooks with his biographer with whom he was having an extra marital affair.  He knowingly and intentionally placed the lives of covert operatives in the soft hands of a lover with no security clearance.  Had she been an agent of a foreign power as part of a honeypot operation, he might have been guilty of treason.

Hillary's alleged offense is technical, not intentional.  Information marked classified is to be sent by hard, rather than electronic copy.  Out of tens of thousands of e-mails a handful might have contained information which, although not marked classified, one or more agencies subsequently considered classified.  It is also possible that Hillary authored a few e-mails that some now consider to contain classified material.  She did not share information with anyone not cleared to receive it.

Of course, classified can be a relative term.  A department may consider embarrassing material classified, even if it is in the public domain.

Truth is lost with a moral compass that only points right.
