Petrossian: Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams

Los Angeles happy hours run the gamut from sublime wine to slop 'til you drop.  Many feature PBR, but only Petrossian has caviar.   Happy hour is weekdays from 4 to 7.  The full happy hour menu, http://www.petrossian.com/index.php?file=restaurant/menu&irest_id=7&imenu_id=89,  features other items as well, but it is all about the caviar.

The caviler is  a 30g tin of Classic Transmontanus, a fabulous California sturgeon egg caviar.  The caviar comes with creme fraiche, belinis, egg yolk, red onion, scallions, mashed green olives and toast.  This would be good value for its price of $49.  But you also have your choice of vodka or prosecco.

Roslyn chose the prosecco  while I opted for the chilled vodka.
Not part of happy hour, but hard to resist, is their foie gras menu.  We ordered two ounces of sautéed.

The decor is minimalist, and the patronage minimal.  Enjoy this special occasion happy hour hidden treasure.
